The second big new business venture was Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies, which developed ARM-based CPU semiconductors for servers in Mega Datacenters, and helped create a JV in China to license in technology and receive know-how in order to make products to sell in China. Lee was also VP/lead attorney for Qualcomm's Global Market Development organization, as well as its Qualcomm Labs subsidiary, which coordinated corporate business development efforts and incubated new businesses globally, including Qualcomm Health, Gimbal and LTE Broadcast.
Immediately prior to Qualcomm, for 5 years Lee was SVP, Business Affairs & General Counsel of iBlast, a consortium of the major TV broadcast station affiliate groups formed to monetize the broadcasters' digital TV spectrum, that raised several round of private investments and launched several novel services, and ultimately sold its assets to a publicly traded media company. Lee came to iBlast from a pioneering digital entertainment company start-up, where he was the SVP, Corporate Affairs, and oversaw numerous equity investments, an IPO filing, and many cutting edge technology transactions.
Prior to his 20+ year in-house career, Lee was a big law firm attorney for 5 years, the majority of which were at leading global law firm Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, and practiced corporate finance/securities, M&A, entertainment and general corporate law.
